Sewer Cleaning & Sewer Water Jetting job in Nassau County, NY earlier this month. Contractor was remodeling the whole house. Water jetted the sewer line and all went well with that. Previous contractor had "re-piped" the kitchen drain line with pvc. Piping runs under the slab. We decided to scope that line as well just in case because one fitting above ground was installed backwards. Good thing we did. Previous contractor reconnected to existing line without knowing that under the slab the drain line was actually broken. This job was in Merrick, NY, down by the water where the soil is sandy and will absorb water rapidly. This is probably why the homeowner never noticed the kitchen drain backing up. We hate giving bad news but better to get it before this whole kitchen was finished and a problem with this line pops up later.

This sewer line has a section of Orangeburg Pipe(Orangeburg pipe (also known as "fiber conduit", "bituminous fiber pipe" or "Bermico") is bitumenized fiber pipe made from layers of wood pulp and pitch pressed together) that has started to rot out and deform allowing tree roots to enter at the joint. This sewer line also runs directly beneath a tree in the front yard and has caused a low spot and root intrusion. Sewer cleaned with 3.5 inch blade. Many customers don't see what's remaining in the sewer. All they can see is water running through the sewer trap. Here we see that there is a large root mass still remaining in the sewer which will no doubt back up again within a month's time. This past week we were called out by a contractor to a job in Bellmore, NY to inspect a sewer with our camera as requested by the homeowner. This home was hit pretty hard by Hurricane Sandy. The concrete slab in the   garage was removed due to several cracks so the homeowner wanted to be sure the sewer was ok before a new slab was poured. It's a good thing that they had this sewer camera inspection service done because unfortunately we found that a connection by the bathroom had separated and needed to be repaired. This homeowner although had added costs to repair the sewer line they actually saved themselves thousands had they not had this service done by having the slab poured then to find out after the fact that the sewer was separated. This is one of the reasons we perform this service when we get a job to clean a sewer. We are able to inform and educate the customer on what they are seeing on the sewer camera monitor. Here is a
